Greenley is of the leaf clan (natch), the largest non-combatant clan in the deep forest. They are neither passive nor agressive, just very wary, watchful and well, generally grumpy and suspicious. They don't trust anybody or anything outside of their village.
Greenley is the 8th son of the village chief. Not likely to inheirit the title, but still holds the respect and reverence of a prince.
This suits him fine as he is the outgoing and adventurous sort.
His position within the village is that of Field Scout and Messenger. It is his job to not only patrol the borders of their territory, but to scour the known regions for news and information on the goings on of other tribes and such.
He also acts as royal messenger and envoy when necessary. This latter would normally go to one of his elder brothers, better groomed in the ways of diplomacy and protocol. But, even at his young age of 170 (a mere teenager amongst his folk) Greenly was very well travelled and proficient in many dialogs. This made him much more suited for the post.
